MICHAEL SCHØNWANDT APPOINTED CHIEF CONDUCTOR OF NETHERLANDS RADIO CHAMBER PHILHARMONIC Michael Schønwandt will become Chief Conductor of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, taking over from Jaap van Zweden from the 2010/11 season.
He remains Music Director of the Royal Opera ad Royal Orchestra in Copenhagen, and continues to appear as a guest conductor with leading orchestras and opera houses throughout Europe. He will work with the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic alongside Principal Guest Conductors Philippe Herreweghe and James MacMillan and Conductor Emeritus Frans Brüggen.
